Sighisoara Trnasilvania

The Prince of Wallachia, Vlad Dracul (who becomes the father of Vlad Tepes, who inspired the famous vampire Dracula), was exiled here. He challenged the Hungarian King from here: He did not sway that the only person with the authority to issue a single coin was the Hungarian King, but minted money himself. On top of that, he changed the name of the city from Hungarian to Sighişoara in Romanian and planted candles on it. Just as he was about to march on the Hungarians, he entered the protection and yoke of the Ottomans in return for paying taxes. Thus, he became the first count of this place.

Dracul's son, Vlad Tepeş, who is notorious for his cruelty and bloodlust, was born in this colorful and charming city in 1431 and lived here until he was four years old.
